Begin your Lake Titicaca day trip with 7:30 am hotel pick-up in Puno and transfer to the Lake Titicaca port. Ride aboard a two-story motorboat on Lake Titicaca for great views of the water and surrounding landscape. Arrive at the floating islands of Uros by mid-morning. Learn about Uros culture and discover the islands’ fascinating history.
Here, you may have the opportunity to ride in a hand-crafted reed boat, perfected over thousands of years by the Uros people.
From the Uros floating islands, continue onward to the island of Taquile. Here, enjoy a traditional lunch (not included). In the afternoon, hike to the island’s summit for a spectacular panorama of the island and surrounding lake. On the island, meet local indigenous people who uphold their cultural heritage, and choose a lifestyle not unlike that of their ancestors before them. In the evening, return to Puno by bus.
