Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am and drive through the Sacred Valley, beside the Vilcanota River. You will pass by beautiful green farming valleys, huge mountains, and high passes, with breathtaking views of the snow-capped Andean peaks. The mountains rise up to 19,685 feet (6,000 meters)!

Along the way, you will also see some Inca sites, Andean markets, Inca farming terraces, and small Inca villages. These villages offer fascinating insight into traditional Andean life. There are several Andean communities along the way that are famous for producing high-quality handmade textiles using natural dyes. You will be able to interact with and learn from the Inca people as they weave.

You will reach the highest point of the trip at Condor Pass, elevation 14,600 feet (4,450 meters). From there, you will go downhill to Lares Valley (10,663 feet / 3,250 meters), where you will be able to bask in some hot springs. The famous natural medicinal hot springs of Lares are located north of Cusco on a paved road with gentle hills. To get there, you will pass through the towns of Pisac, Calca, and Lares. The temperatures in the many pools range from 97-111ºF (36-44ºC).

You will have lunch on the way back to Cusco. You can also do some fishing in the Wasamayo River with local people. If you are lucky, you can catch some trout! Fishing takes about 2 hours. Between 16:00 pm and 17:00 pm, you will be back in the Calca Province. Finally, your Lares Peru Valley Day Tour ends as we drop you off at your hotel in Cusco.
