Join us on a full-day acclimatization tour, as we bring you to see the Maras Salt ponds and the Yucay Terraces!

At the salt ponds,  take in amazing views of the landscapes from the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On this tour, you will also be able to hike to the Yucay agricultural terraces, and finish the tour by having a traditional lunch in the home of a local Andean family.

To cap off this unforgettable experience, you will also attend a ceramic workshop by Pablo Seminario, where he and his wife had developed their ceramic style locally in Urubamba. Their ceramics have been acquired both locally and internationally, including the Cusco Museum of Pre-Columbian Art and the Chicago Field Museum. This particular workshop in Urubamba continues to grow every year, and it has become a place where art and culture come together to create a magical atmosphere for every traveler.

Duration: 7.5 hours (Tour starts at 08:30 am)

You will be picked up from your hotel at 08:30 am and be taken to Urubamba local market, where you will have a light Andean-style breakfast in the Market of Small Producers. There you will also learn about different organic products grown in the area.

Then, you will be taken to the Maras Salt ponds, where you will learn about the entire salt production process and different types of salt. After which, you will hike down to Urubamba River where the transportation will take us to the ceramic workshop conducted by Mr. Pablo Seminario, who developed their ceramic style locally in Urubamba.

At 12:30pm, you will visit the Yucay community, where you will hike the agricultural Incan Terraces, allowing you to see different types of Andean crops, and also be in the midst of nature and Incan walls. Last but not least, an indigenous local “Mamacha” will be waiting for you in her own home with a delicious lunch cooked with ingredients native to the area and prepared using traditional ceramic cookware. As you enter her home, you will also get to understand better life in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
