Amazing Climbing Expedition: Vallunaraju & Pisco Mountain

Nevado Vallunaraju and Pisco Mountain are both located in the Cordillera Blanca. They are amazing mountains with easy access to trekking paths that take you to nature itself and they also have amazing views from the summit. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss.

Day 01: Huaraz 3090 m / 10,137 ft– Moraine Camp 4800 m / 15,748 ft 
We will climb for 3 hours to moraine camp with a view of Ranrapalca Peak, Ocshapalca until reaching 4800m where we will camp for the night.

Day 02: Moraine Camp – Summit Vallunaraju 5686 m / 18,654 ft – Huaraz 
The hike starts at 2 am, we will go across several moraines until we reach the wide glacier and climb to the top where we will be rewarded with the view of the Ranrapalca, Huantsan and other peaks. Later, we will descend to Morraine camp, from here we will walk back to the refuge and return to Huaraz in a shuttle bus.

Day 03: Huaraz – Yuraccoral 3800 m / 12,467 ft – Base Camp 4676 m / 15,341 ft 
From Huaraz, we will take a shuttle to Cebollapampa. On the way, we will appreciate amazing sights such as Chinancocha lagoon and Orconcocha lagoon. We will follow the Llanganuco Valley to Cebollapampa. Then we will start our very calm walk to the base camp of Nevado Pisco.

Day 04: Base Camp – Summit Pisco Mountain 5752 m / 18,871 ft – Base Camp 
A few hours before sunset we will start our climb to the top. Our headlamps will accompany us all the way through stony grounds and glaciers. Later we pass a field of rocks below the Huandoy glacier where we have to calculate with falling stones. On the other side of the glacier, we will have dark rocks that serve us a better way to the top of Nevado Pisco.

Day 05: Base Camp – Cebollapampa – Huaraz 
On the fifth day, we will go back down to Cebollapampa where our shuttle bus will be waiting for the drive back to Huaraz.
