Day 1: Arrive in Cusco
Today, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from the airport or your hotel to begin your 4-day trip to Machu Picchu. After checking in to the hotel, the day it yours to explore the Inca capital city.
Today, you’ll have the morning to relax, grab a coffee and breakfast, and prepare for the trip to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, you’ll explore the original Inca village and the famous Ollantaytambo ruins — a magnificent terraced amphitheater and estate used as a fortress against Spanish conquest in the 16th century.
In the evening, you’ll have time to explore the town on your own or head back to the hotel for a relaxing night in.
Day 3: Bike the Outstanding Abra Malaga Pass
Today, you’ll enjoy an unforgettable bicycle tour on the Abra Malaga high-mountain pass — considered one of the most beautiful rides in all of South America. The trip is completely downhill on paved roads and provides breathtaking views of the Veronica Glacier, cascading waterfalls, and the even the Amazon River Basin.
The trip also offers an intimate glimpse at the authentic Andean way of life that few travelers have the opportunity to see. Pass by shepherds and their herds of llama, rural farmers, and small mountain communities. The Abra Malaga tour is a must-do experience for able travelers.
At night, you’ll board a comfortable overnight train to Aguas Calientes — the pueblo just outside of Machu Picchu.
Day 4: Experience Machu Picchu
Today, you’ll arrive in Machu Picchu! Explore the outstanding Inca Lost City and UNESCO World Heritage Site with a trained guide, and experience the true size, power, and sophistication of the great empire.
At night, you’ll return to Ollantaytambo or Cusco for your onward travel.
