5 Days/4 Nights
Day 1: Arrive in Cusco and Cusco Sightseeing
Once you arrive, you will take our provided transfer services to the hotel and enjoy a free morning to get acclimated.
At 1:30 PM, you will embark from your hotel on a guided sightseeing tour in Cusco. You start by visiting Koricancha, Temple of the Sun, which was one of the most important shrines during the Inca time period. Next you will visit the Cathedral located on Cusco’s main square. The tour continues at Sacsayhuaman, a megalithic work made by the Incas that looks over the city on a hill to the north. You will then travel to Qenqo to see a limestone outcrop, which was once used by a religious cult. The tour will finish with a visit to Puca Pucara and Tambomachay before being dropped back off at the hotel.
Meals on the first day are not included.
Day 2: Cusco and Sacred Valley of the Incas
On the second day, you will partake in a fully day tour that begins with a visit to the village of Qorao which has a lookout site where you can take beautiful pictures of the valley. You will then travel to Pisaq, an archaeological site and Indian market, before enjoying lunch at Sacred Valley. The second half of the day is composed of a visit to the Inca Fortress and Citadel of Ollantaytambo which were built to guard the Valley and protect from invasions from tribes in the jungle. You will tour the Fortress’s stepped carved stone terraces by way of long staircases before heading back to the Cusco hotel/

Day 3: Cusco and Hike to Putucusi or Mandor Valley Birdwatching
Leave Cusco and take train from Poroy Train Station to Aguas Calientes. Transportation from the Cusco hotel to the train station and from the Aguas Calientes station to the new hotel is provided. You can choose one of two options for your day in Aguas Calientes:
Option 1: Mandor Valley Birdwatching. We will walk along the Vilcanota River into the Valley to visit the Mandor waterfall. While in the Valle, we will have the opportunity to find the Cock-of-the-Rock and to admire the unique birdlife, which includes Speckle-Faced Parrots and Green Jays. Once arriving at the waterfall, we will swim in the water before walking back to the hotel under the shadow of Machu Picchu.
Option 2: Hike Putucusi. We will hike up a mountain known for its spectacular view of the Machu Picchu Citadel from the Vilcanota Valley side. On the hike up, we will admire the contrast between the Mountain Cloud Forest and the Elfin Forest as well as the different species of trees, orchids, and birds found along the trail. After the hike, we will return to the Aguas Calientes hotel.

Day 4: Machu Picchu and Return to Cusco
You will enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before taking a short bus ride to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Once at the top, you will enjoy a guided tour of the Citadel where you will visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Towar, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Inca’s homes, and the Citadel’s central square. After your tour, you will have time to explore the Archaeological Site and its narrow roads and steps surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side.
Before leaving Machu Picchu, you will have the opportunity to walk 1 hour to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) or to climb the top of Wayna Picchu, which provides a view of the whole Sanctuary. In the afternoon you will return to Cusco by train and stay overnight at the Cusco Hotel.

Day 5: Depart Cusco
Travel from the hotel to the airport for your departure flight either to Lima or another city.
