Antigua is a city in the central highlands of Guatemala known for its preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture as well as a number of ruins of colonial churches. It served as the capital of the Kingdom of Guatemala and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site. Join us on our Antigua tours and get to see the city in a full day!
On this tour, you will get to witness the ruins left by the earthquakes of 1773, where the Church and Convent of the Capuchinas stands. You will then continue towards the City Hall (founded in 1740) and the Old Book Museum. You will visit the other attractions such as the Captain General Palace, Central Park, Cathedral of San Jose, Arch of Santa Catalina and La Merced
After lunch, you will head to the Central Market, where you can see all kinds of handcrafts, paintings and typical clothes. You then continue towards the Convent of Santa Clara, founded in 1700 and destroyed by the earthquake of 1717. This tour will end with a visit to Santo Domingo del Cerro, where you can get a bird’s eye view of the entire city of Antigua from above.
