El Zonte is one of the most famous surfing beaches in Central Americas as it’s perfect for beginners, pros, and everyone in between. You can meet travelers from all over the world, learn to surf, perfect your technique over three days, enjoy cold drinks, delicious meals, and soak up the El Salvadorian sun. You will have safe transportation, good accommodation, bilingual surf instructors and a 24/7 tour guide.
Antigua, Guatemala to El Salvador. You will be picked up from your hotel at 8:00 am for a four hour drive to the Pacific coast of El Salvador. The drive is beautiful, with many stunning views of the ocean during the last part of the trip. You will check in to the hotel on arrival, and grab lunch at the restaurant. Spend the afternoon poolside at the hotel, relax in a hammock, or swim in the beautiful Pacific. Or if you want to start early, grab a surfboard and hit the waves.
Sun, Sand, and Surf! Your day starts whenever you like! Regardless of whether you are a first timer or seasoned surfer, you can find the perfect break near El Zonte. The lessons will be customized to your ability and your instructor will teach at your pace. More details below on lessons. If you find out surfing is not your thing, simply sit back and relax on the beach, soaking up the warm El Zonte sun. Local tours can also be arranged if you want a break from the beach.
Surf and return to Antigua. Depending on the tide, you will have one or two chances to surf before heading back to reality. After one last delicious lunch, you will depart for Antigua at 14:00 pm, arriving around 18:00 pm.

For beginners, you will be provided with everything you need; surfboard, leash, rash guard etc. All instructors are bilingual, ISA certified, and provide you with one hour of personalized lessons each day. For intermediate surfers, you will be provided with the appropriate board. Depending on the tides, you can have two to three sessions a day. If you don’t need an instructor to help improve your technique in the water, they can also help you on land, teaching you how to read waves and when to start paddling. For the advanced surfers, you will be provided with a board and detailed information about swells, tides, and break points in El Zonte and El Sunzal. The waves in El Zonte come from the right and break at the tip, and in El Sunzal they are classic right point breaks with long lines. If you want to bring your own surfboard, let the tour company know so they can plan accordingly.
