Many of the inhabitants of San martin Sacatepequez are of indigenous origin from the Mam tribe. The Laguna Chicabal is a sacred and miraculous entity – the shape and the fog that shrouds the volcano creates an even further mystic perception.
Mayan priests perform traditional ceremonies on the shore using various holy crosses and candles. On this tour, we’ll take you to the Laguna Chicabal with a local Guatemalan guide and you will proceed to learn about the Mayan religion, culture and about the various surrounding plants and animals.

What to bring / wear: Hiking boots, long trousers, wind or rain jacket, sun block, sun glasses, camera, binoculars, personal items and at least 2 liters of water.
