Explore Takalik, one of the oldest archaeological sites in Guatemala. In Taralik Abaj National Park, you will find a combination of Olmec and Mayan style pre-Colombian ruins. Settled around 1800 BC, the early style of the civilisation was Olmec before Mayan styles started to replace the characteristic potbellied human carvings of the Olmec art. Situated in the middle of a subtropical forest, this site is certainly worth a visit.
